RAGI (JAVA) MALT FOR GOVERNMENT SCHOOLS OF ANDHRA PRADESH COMMENCES March 21, 2023 Today marks a Historic day where in Sri Sathya Sai Central Trust with an estimated budget of 42 crores benefiting close to 4 million government school children in the state of Andhra Pradesh launched Ragi malt seva. Not many in other parts of the world would know about this wonderful millet Ragi which is predominantly part taken in the southern and western part of India Ragi is a very highly nutritious millet which can be consumed as a malt (by adding Jaggery) or can be mixed with rice and made into balls which are called "Ragi balls" which is a super food for diabetics too. Until 1970's Ragi and other millets were predominantly consumed by the people of India until quite dramatically rice entered the scene and created a severe nutritional imbalance in the otherwise a perfect diet of Indians It is wonderful thought of Sri Sathya Sai Central Trust to re-introduce, millets to the future generation so that a reversal of the yester years balanced diet happens Today the district collector of Sri Sathya Sai district Shri Basant Kumar Managing Trustee of Sri Sathya Sai Central trust Shri Rathnakar, Member of parliament of Hindupur Gorantala Madhav officials from the education department and other dignitaries participated in the Zilla parishad government school in kothacheruvu for the grand launch of Ragi Java to the government school students of all the 26 districts of Andhra Pradesh Invoking His divine blessings, with no fanfare, the Sai Way, Sri Sathya Sai Central Trust continues the divine legacy in the way Swami taught us to carry on.
